Small businesses have long been the driving force of Virginia’s economy. In fact, in 2014, small businesses in Virginia were responsible for creating over 30,000 new jobs. The Arlington Chamber of Commerce has long been a champion for small businesses, offering valuable educational resources, opportunities to make valuable connections, and an advocate for all businesses.

The Arlington Chamber of Commerce has long been a champion for small businesses, offering valuable educational resources, opportunities to make valuable connections, and an advocate for all businesses.
The exciting news is that Arlington Chamber member businesses with 10 or less full-time employees are automatically members of the Virginia Chamber of Commerce through the Small Business Alliance. Since 2011, the Arlington Chamber has been a member of the Small Business Alliance and has regularly partnered with the Virginia Chamber of Commerce on various programs, most recently in January on Chamber Day in Richmond. There, members spent the day meeting with the Arlington delegation to the Virginia General Assembly, as well as listened to a keynote address by Governor Ralph Northam, heard panel discussions from party leadership, and of course, participated in high-level networking.
While many Virginia Chamber events are held in the Richmond area, such as the Virginia Health Care Conference, there are several notable event held here in Northern Virginia. Most recently, the Virginia Chamber hosted its Fantastic 50 Awards Program in Chantilly, which recognized Virginia’s 50 fastest growing companies. Not only has our Chamber’s partnership with the Virginia Chamber created additional opportunities for members, but the Virginia Chamber has also supported our advocacy efforts. In fact, the Virginia Chamber was an integral partner in securing dedicated funding for Metro, which serves as an integral part of the transportation network in Northern Virginia.
The best benefit of this partnership for Arlington Chamber members is there is no extra paperwork, application, or additional investment. Arlington Chamber staff regularly sends our updated membership roster to our liaison at the Virginia Chamber.
