CAPSTONE INTERNSHIPS AT ARLINGTON TECH:  Arlington Tech, a dual enrolled (NOVA and APS)/STEM high school program located at the Arlington Career Center, requires students to complete a school year-long work-based internship during their senior year. 
 
Businesses/organizations deciding to host an intern are committing to providing a work-based learning opportunity for 5-10 hours per week from Labor Day to Memorial Day. 
 
Students receive an abridged course scheduled for their senior year so they can leave school early to work. 
 
Arlington Tech offers a variety of classes and certifications to prepare students for the workforce. Many of our students complete these certifications and leave high school with a robust skill set.

  • Culinary Arts - ServSafe
  • Engineering/Drawing - Auto Desk Fusion & Revit
  • Cybersecurity - CompTIA A+ & Security+
  • Aviation - FAA Written Exam
  • Cosmetology/Barbering - State Board Exams
  • Auto Tech/Body - ASE Certifications
  • Animal Science - Pet Sitters Certification Exam
  • TV Production - Adobe Premiere (editing) EMT -
  • EMT-Basic
  • Graphic Design/Digital Animation - Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Animate
  • Early Childhood Education - ParaPro
  • Physical Therapy - PTTC (PT aide certification)
  • Computer Science - Certiport IT Specialist (Unix Command LIne, GIT, HTML, CSS, JAVA Script, Python, Assembly language, JAVA)

A Capstone Coordinator and Partnership Coordinator will support students and partners during these internships. This is a wonderful opportunity for our students, but also helps businesses/organizations discover new talent and future leaders.
