So how exactly does a girl from Delaware get to the Chamber? Well, the first stop is in Dallas at the University of Texas for a degree in Computer Science. Then it’s back to the East Coast to work for a software company in Courthouse Plaza in Arlington, VA. After quite a few years, the next stop is at a D.C. catering company where things are crazy, exciting, and exhausting. And then, here I am!

Surprisingly, there is a common theme. It wasn’t until I decided to take the summer off and regroup that I was able to narrow down what that theme was and what my next step would be. As it turns out, whether I was doing tech support and selling software, or planning and executing events and selling food, I was always helping people and solving problems. So finding the common theme was easy, figuring out the next step was not. I knew I wanted to be on this side of the river since I still live in Courthouse. And I somehow wanted to “give back," “make the world a better place,” “do good." It always sounded so cliché whenever I tried to articulate it. I just didn’t know how to explain it, or what was missing all this time. And then I found the Chamber.
I’ve been incredibly lucky throughout the years in so many ways. I worked for amazing companies with amazing people who taught me so much. I traveled a lot, had incredible experiences, and made some of the best friends ever. And now, my luck continues because I get to work for the Chamber with amazing people who are doing great things. Every day I get to help people and businesses and make Arlington even better. And those clichés? They actually make more sense when you’re part of a community. After all these years, this Delawarean turned Arlingtonian is so happy to be part of the Arlington community.
