Being the child of a Marine, I have lived in many places, but I can proudly say I am a native Virginian. I graduated James Madison University in 2017 with a degree in Public Relations and Journalism. My career goals centered around working in design, communications, and photography. The Chamber’s open position for a Communications Coordinator hit all these checks and many more. From my research, the Chamber was similar to previous places I worked for, and I knew the Chamber was a place I would thrive in. On a sunny February morning, I got the lucky call from Kate while I was out walking my miniature dachshund Tank with my mom.
As the Communications Coordinator, I communicate and advertise the Chamber’s messages and those of its members. I work to tell the story of how the Chamber supports businesses, showing the Arlington business community how we are a powerful partner for every type of organization. I manage the Chamber’s social media channels and post pictures of events. If you ever see me smiling on the screen, make sure to strike a pose! I also work on design, marketing, and other duties for the Chamber. Every day is a little different from the last and I enjoy every moment of it.
About me personally – I call eastern North Carolina my “home base” since my parents have retired there. I currently live in Ballston and explore the neighborhood as much as possible. Working for the Chamber has made exploring Arlington so much more meaningful since I can connect stories and faces to the businesses. I look forward to meeting more Chamber members and working with them.
