Looking for internships during the pandemic was very difficult, especially as a high school student with limited resources. I was very thankful to be accepted into the PRIME program, as it was a great resource to find an internship for the summer. When I was offered a position as an Operations Intern at the Arlington Chamber of Commerce, I was honored. Business and finance are areas that I have been interested in for a while. Being able to intern at an organization that works so closely with a wide variety of businesses, from small to fortune 500, was something that I was excited to take part in.
Even though my time here was short, only a month, I learned more than I could have ever imagined. I attended several networking events, which allowed me to connect with local business owners and learn about the Arlington business community. I also assisted with a lot of projects, from maintaining the database and website development to assisting with outreach for Arlington Restaurant Week.
As for my upcoming plans, I plan on graduating high school with my International Baccalaureate diploma and to go to college to pursue a degree in finance. I am very grateful for the skills that I learned from this internship with PRIME and the Chamber. They will allow me to excel in my future professional and personal life.
