Each month at the Chamber, we host a Chamber 101 session called SMART Start. We start the session with an interactive question: “Why do you think people join the Chamber?” Nine times out of 10, the first response is either networking or business growth. The Chamber is proud to hold over 100 events and programs per year, and one of our core monthly networking events is our Breakfast Connection
Each month at the Chamber, we host a Chamber 101 session called SMART Start. We start the session with an interactive question: “Why do you think people join the Chamber?” Nine times out of 10, the first response is either networking or business growth. This event allows you to "speed network," where we set up round tables and each person at the table gets a 60-second elevator pitch to describe their business, hand out cards and/or flyers and network with everyone at their table. After everyone has made their way around the table, they then switch up tables and meet a new set of people. Ideally, attendees will have met everyone in the room by the time the event is over. Even if you aren’t a morning person or an expert networker, this is a fun event that you will leave with 30 or more connections and be back in your office by 9:30 a.m.
Our June Breakfast Connection is a special one, as we combine the event with our friends at the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce. Without sounding like a cheesy 90’s commercial, this combined event allows you to double your contacts, as both Arlington Chamber and Alexandria Chamber members will be networking at this event.
If you are a small business looking to expand your reach, a retail store or restaurant wanting to network before the store opens, a business or nonprofit seeking to promote an event, or if your business is working to make some new connections in the Alexandria market, the combined Breakfast Connection is the place to be on June 8. Not to mention, this event is located on the scenic waterfront in Old Town Alexandria at the Chart House. Your registration fee covers a buffet style breakfast and all the coffee you can drink. Even if you haven’t given a 60 second elevator pitch on your business, there are some good tips out there on how to perfect your pitch!
