All new members are given an Ambassador to the Chamber when they first join. Our Ambassador Committee looks to reach out to new members in their first year, serving as an additional resource as long time Chamber members. Ambassadors serve as a trusted voice to new members on how to maximize the Chamber membership, based on the objectives of the new member, and also look to greet new members at upcoming Chamber events.
To get to know your Ambassadors better, we present Ambassador Committee Chair, Rick Reinsch of Digital Recollections.
I am the Digital Maestro at Digital Recollections, which means as the owner of my multimedia design studio, I am the art director, do the sales, and some production, too.
What are some of the previous jobs or positions that you’ve held?
My first job was sweeping the streets at Six Flags over Georgia, I did that ‘til I split my hand open over 4th of July cleaning up after the Cool and the Gang concert. After that I sold and took tickets, no more trash for me!
How long have you been a member of the Chamber?
Since April of 2010, so almost 9 years
What is your favorite part of being a Chamber Ambassador?
Meeting the new members of the Chamber, finding out what they are looking to get out of the Chamber, and putting them on the right path!
How else are you involved with the Arlington community?
Volunteer with A-SPAN. I live, work, and play Arlington, so I am at most events in the county!
What do you hope to accomplish as a Chamber Ambassador?
Hopefully I help my “Ambassadees” get what they are looking for from the Chamber and be a smiling face when they are at an event and have that “Deer in the headlights” look on their face, because it can be a very overwhelming experience when you first join!
What do you think makes someone a good Ambassador?
You need to be outgoing and have a willingness to help new member navigate the Chamber.
What events do you participate in as a Chamber Ambassador?
I am a very familiar face at the Business After Business, rarely miss them. You can find me at a Chamber breakfast, and many of the other wonderful programs the Chamber puts together. I love the Best Business awards; and being a former winner (2012), I love to meet the other winners from years past and the new award winners
How has being a Chamber Ambassador impacted you?
It has helped me be a better networker, and I have made many colleagues and friends by being on the committee. I love seeing new members become very involved members.
Why did you decide to become a Chamber Ambassador?
Because I love the Chamber and wanted to give back!
What do you like to do in your free time?
You can see me around Arlington with my husband and our two Boston Terriers (one, a recent rescue from Homeward Trails, who is blind and is the sweetest dog)! Say “Hi” if you see us at a Farmers Market. We love going to wineries, spending time with our friends, and traveling all over Europe!
