The Chamber offers opportunities to network with Arlington County staff:
  • Our semi-monthly Government Affairs Committee, which is open to all Chamber members, welcomes key policymakers and County staff members to present and take questions on critical issues.
  • The Chamber staff routinely meets with County staff members to discuss issues of concern to our members.
​The Chamber puts a local face on issues before the County Board, to show how policies and actions can support businesses and the economic environment for Arlington:
  • Local Public Policy Positions, drafted by the Government Affairs Committee and approved by the Chamber Board of Directors supporting a strong business environment in Arlington
  • Attending commission meetings to keep abreast of the latest proposals and developments in Arlington County policy
  • Writing letters to the County Board, commissions, and County staff expressing the Chamber’s position on issues coming before them
  • Testifying at hearings to advocate for policies and decisions supporting business success
The Chamber convenes events with government leaders where they interact with, and hear the concerns of, the Arlington business community:
  • State of the County is an annual address by the Arlington County Board Chair, who highlights the economic and development status of Arlington.
  • Arlington County Board Candidate Forum is a moderated discussion of topics important to the Arlington business community with the candidates running for the Arlington County Board.
​The Chamber encourages and facilitates participation by businesses and their representatives in Arlington County commissions and in public groups.
