Focus on Committees

The Chamber's Government Affairs and Economic Development Committee exists to review and put forth an opinion to our Board of Directors on applicable business-related issues, create the first draft of our annual Public Policy Position document and identify and monitor such other regulatory matters as have an effect on the business community. It meets once during most months but not when there is insufficient agenda to meet.

The committee's next meeting is this coming Friday, January 29th at 8:00 a.m. in the Chamber office. On the agenda are:

  • An update to issues arising in the current General Assembly session on which the Arlington Chamber is taking a position, and

  • Jill Griffin of Arlington Economic Development will report on the County's Retail Task Force findings, process, and status going forward - interesting stuff!

All members interested in what state and local governments are doing for (and against...) the business community are encouraged to attend. No registration required.
