As it has for years, your Arlington Chamber is participating in Chamber Day at the Capitol, a program of the Virginia Chamber of Commerce. We invite you to join us and plan to spend the day in Richmond with Virginia's newly elected leadership, local chamber members and executives, and members of the business community. Virginia's top leadership will address Chamber Day at the Capitol participants about pressing legislative issues facing the 2010 General Assembly Session.
We will also discuss a 2010 business agenda and will have the opportunity to visit our representatives and share our top legislative priorities. This is your opportunity to voice your priorities and concerns to your elected leadership and to strengthen the voice of the business community!

Our group will meet in the main event room; see hotel postings for exact location. We look forward to seeing you there.

Our group will not formally meet at the event but will likely run into each other there; see hotel postings for exact location. We look forward to seeing you there!

Do you employ members of the National Guard or Reserve? The Department of Defense is now accepting nominations from Guard and Reserve Members who feel their employers go above and beyond their call of duty. The Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award honors those employers who share members of their workforce with the National Guard and Reserve, which makes up about 50 percent of the U.S. military. It is the highest honor in a series of employer awards given by the Department of Defense. The award will be presented personally by the Secretary of Defense.

Nominations should come from a Guard or Reserve member, or a member of their family, who feels their employer has given exceptional support to the employee. Nominations will be accepted until January 18, 2010. To learn more about the award and how you can be nominated, visit here.
