SWaM Mentoring Program Kick-Off
The Commonwealth
of Virginia Office of the Governor's Executive Order 33(2006),
"Enhancing Opportunities for Small, Women & Minority Owned
Businesses", is an initiative to ensure small, women and
minority owned businesses (SWaMs) have an equal
opportunity to share in state procurement. Encouraged
by Executive Order 33, Northern Virginia Community College's
Business Opportunity Center (BOC) is pioneering
a new SWaM mentoring program.
The SWaM Mentoring kick-off reception will
offer an opportunity to meet SWaMs in the program and to
develop new contacts from state government agencies,
non-profits and those in the private sector.
