Putt-Putt on Down to
the Scholar's Cup!
The
2nd Annual Scholar's Cup is sure to be a swing
and a hit! The Education and Workforce Development Committee
has teamed up with Upton Hill Regional Park to host
our mini-golf tournament for the second consecutive year. The
Scholar's Cup is fun for all ages. So, if you kids or would
like to have fun and support a great cause, this is the event
for you! An added bonus, dinner and snacks from
ROCKLANDS BBQ and Grilling Company
and ice cream from Maggie Moo's.
The tournament is open to anyone (ages
6+ up) and is designed to be a family friendly event. Bring
your children, their friends and your neighbors! Challenge
your golf buddies!

Sponsorship opportunities are still
available. Sponsor a hole, and your business can have two
golfers participate in the tournament.

Effective Media Relations
Greta Menard of Capital MarCom,
Inc. will be hosting an informative session on
Effective Media Relations
today, October 16 in the Chamber board room
at 5pm. What tools do you and your business
need to communicate with the media world?
The
Communications Council is working to create a network of
communications related
resources for the Chamber and its members through best
practices and knowledge sharing. By advising the Chamber and
aiding its members, the Communications Council is fostering
the growth and improvement of businesses and businesses'
communications methods.

George Mason Offers
New Management Education Program for High Growth Companies
George
Mason University is launching a new program to help early
stage, high growth companies. The new Entrepreneurial Step
Up Program will provide management education to senior
executives from early-stage companies. In addition to a
comprehensive entrepreneurial management curriculum,
participants will be assigned a highly experienced Business
Mentor. The Business Mentor will work with their student to
help address critical issues and track business performance
during monthly meetings. The program is scheduled to begin
on November 12. Space is limited.
