Chamber Parking
The parking lot/garage
of the building that houses the Chamber office has been
structurally condemned. It is unlikely that the structure will
be rebuilt. This means, of course, that parking will become
more difficult for those who are visiting the Chamber office.
Clearly free visitor parking is a dwindling option in an
Arlington that is
almost
fully "urbanized".
In Arlington's Courthouse section, there are, however, a
number of options.
-
Metered parking on 14th Street in front of our building &
across the street
-
Meters on N. Taft Street (around the corner from the
Chamber)
-
The County large, metered surface lot facing Courthouse Road
between 14th & 15th Streets
-
Meters on 15th Street
-
Hourly parking at the garage for the building across the
street from us (2000 14th - entrance to garage on Taft
Street)
The Chamber regrets any inconveniences this unforeseen
situation has caused. We love our visitors. If we can assist
in any way with your parking needs, please let us know. As a
small first step, we are keeping a supply of quarters at our
front desk to make change. Please see Deborah Kunin, Member
Services Administrator. As a second step, we are looking at
the possibility of changing the meeting location for various
meetings and small events. Please always check your meeting
notices, the web site, and our e-newsletters to confirm the
location of your meeting and events, Thank you for your
patience. |
America
Needs Your Numbers
In
December, the U.S. Census Bureau mailed Economic Census
forms to more than 4 million businesses - to all large and
medium businesses and many small businesses (including 3,800
in Arlington County). If you received a form, the law (Title
13, U.S. Code) requires that you complete and return it. The
due date is February 12, less than a month away.
Economic indicators we use all the time - like Gross
Domestic Product, monthly retail sales, and the producer
price index - all depend on the Economic Census for
continued accuracy. The data are also used by businesses
large and small, and indirectly, by this Chamber. Ben
Bernanke, current Chairman of the Board of Governors of
the United States Federal Reserve, says this census is
"indispensable to understanding America's economy."

Bureau's business help site if you need information or
assistance completing the form. Or call
