Win a Trip to Budapest, Hungary!

Budapest, Hungary

The Arlington Chamber is excited to offer our membership an international opportunity of a lifetime! Our Chamber has recently become sister chambers with the Budapest Business Chamber, or BBC. The BCC is newly formed by a former Arlington Chamber member, Orsolya Enekes. We knew her as Orsolya Kuli, her then married name. Enekes is co-director of the BCC, and she hopes to bring the same advantages and opportunities that American chambers give its members to those living in Budapest, Hungary. Hungary has become part of the European Union; however, their history with Communism has prevented them from becoming a business community that communicates. "There is no word for 'networking' in Hungarian-nothing whatsoever," states Enekes.

The Arlington Chamber's 'sister' relationship with the BCC is one that offers friendship, experience and international opportunity. The BCC is thanking our Chamber by inviting an Arlington Chamber member to Budapest, Hungary to mentor and guide their membership in the areas of networking. The goal is to advise the BCC leadership on the tools needed to run a successful chamber. The mentor will teach the BCC how to network and how to use networking for business growth.

How can you become a mentor to the BCC and win a trip of a lifetime? Our Chamber will offer this trip to the Arlington Chamber member who joins the most new members between now and December 31, 2007. So start finding new members now! What are you waiting for?

Virginia-Best State for Business, 2nd Year in a Row!

VA State Flag

Forbes.com has named Virginia the "Best State for Business" two years in a row. Additionally, CNBC and CNBC.com named Virginia their "Top State for Business."
Virginia has remained in the top spot thanks to one of the lowest unemployment rates in the country, strict policies to protect the environment and of course, due to the many large companies and government contractors that do business in our state. Virginia did score poorly in both polls' cost of living categories and must strive to keep up with competing states; especially those making strides in all areas of business, like Washington and Utah, and those already in the winners circle, North Carolina and Utah.
